Crappy weekend events.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Weekend_events
^^Please review the timeline of the guild wars weekend events.
To back up my statement, you will notice, aside from all the recent cause for celebration, ie holidays and gaile grey leaving, we have not had any worthwhile PvE events like triple dye, green, golds. The most unique event is double sunspear/lightbringer which had happened many weeks ago.
You can also turn your attention to the uneven balance of Pve:PvP events that we have.
There has been comments suggesting it rotates from PvE to PvP every other week to create a balance. Please note January to say it aint' so.
As well, these events arent rotated "Randomly" but are created per week by Anet staff. There isnt a magic machine that pops out a new random event every week.
I also happen to PVP very much. I am rank 9 Hero, rank 6 gladiator, and rank 4 commander. I DO actually enjoy the game of pvp, but double faction/points? how does that create fun?
Thanks for your time, NOW BRING BACK QUALITY WEEKEND EVENTS!

+1 before... hmmm... looks like this might not get closed...
Nonetheless, whatever happens, happens. Better to leave it that way. If you don't like it, don't complain about it. Some people like the "crappy weekends" even if they are repeats.

Agreed. This game is already boring enough. Bring back these weekends.

Isnt there already threads about this elsewhere?
I wonder if anet consider the festivals to be PvE events ?I actually like an odd pvp weekend just so I can do things other than GW .
I believe the double gold from chests with double lucky/unlucky points is way overdue though having only been done once over a year ago (seems a lot longer). Don't think I really want a triple dye weekend though.. I have enough brown dyes thanks! :P

april split 2-2 pvp pve
march split 2-2 pvp pve
feb 3-2 pve etching out 1 over pvp
jan 3-1 pvp getting the 2 over 1 pve
dec 3-1 pve getting 2 over on pvp
It can be argued that pvp gets special functions during the events on holidays but if i recall guild wars was named as so for the reason ...its GUILD WARS pvp based get over the pve part of this people, I play PVE based mostly but understand the basis of the game is formulated around PVP.
Enough whining about PVE already. When this game came out it was sold on its competetive play not its deep/short story or weekend events... at least thats what i remember the game being geared towards.
GAAAAHHHHH! I see why the mods here are so biased to close threads and shut people out.
...people get a leg up, and expect more and more. When this game came out weekend events did not exist. bah humbug.
I enjoy them when they come, but I do not expect them.

I'd rather not have weekend events at all to be honest, why?
PvE Events - Raptor Farming for special item drops, not really fun and then Losers Arch, Scamadan and Kaineng are spammed to high heaven even more with people selling and buying this crap for stupid prices. That and the special item drops only ever seem to be geared toward the same titles. I play a lot of PvE but i'm not interested in the sweet touth, party animal or drunkard. I'd much rather go for gamer or perhaps lucky aswell as the combat orientated ones.
PvP Events - Tend to be the same repetitive double points for some faction and it seems to bring out the worst people to PvP. Those people who have no clue and those people who are so 'elite' you must have special requirements to join them. Either way i usually end up more frustrated than when i started playing.
So yes i /sign in the hopes of better weekend events that aren't the same old crap and require some initiative.

Here is an idea for a weekend event...
Beginning this Friday at noon (-7 GMT) Pacific you will earn double points towards the whiner title when you complain about the state of Guild Wars. Every time you whine in game you will receive double points, and every complainer thread posted on guru seen by A-Net's staff will net you triple points! Watch for enemies dropping small violins that when played will add to the whiner title. Expect to increase your hypocrite title as well if you complain and still continue to play.
And for those of you who say "there is no whiner title" or "this makes no sense" make sure you watch out for the "I am gullible and everything goes over my head weekend event!"

WHen you have over a milion people that are pplaying.. you cant keep everyone happy all the time. HOWEVER he best solutuion i can think of to keep MOST happy would be to have 1 pvp and 1 pve event each weekend.
yes. 2 events. 1 double gald weekend and one double drop on the same weekend for example. Now there wil alway be the HA players taht will be upset when its not thire turn, and there are some pve players that couldnt care less about double drops in teh deep.
So not even this solution would make everyone happy. But it may at least cheer a few grumy players up.

They should just remove them all together. That way, every one is unhappy(well, not every one ) at the same time and thus no one can feel left out.
And rather then crappy weekends, I for one am tired of all the whiners about the weekends. Remember, Anet doesn't have to do them.

A double Luxon/Kurzick faction point weekend in the PVE areas would be great.
Off topic - too bad so many threads are closed for petty reasons Guru forums seem a bit over moderated.

Hmmm
To be honest, weekend events are a reward not a god given right, I'm sure NC doesnt have to make these events for us, So stop moaning and start being thankful for the fact they even bother.

I wouldnt mind a non AB lux/Kurz weekend too, just for a change.
I think its not overmoderation rather than people not understanding what each forum is for or understandign but ignoring it anyway, but thats just my 2 cents .

Just because some don't like the weekend theme doesn't mean that others don't enjoy them. Be glad there's variety for everyone and that these weekend themes even exist.
Also, I don't think it's so much over-moderation as it is people not knowing/reading/forgetting/ignoring the forum rules and places to post too.
